Pilgrim Sailing Speed Record 2017. On our way to Galeria, Corsica to take shelter from a strong mistral wind, we sailed the Pilgrim pretty hard and managed to beat our old speed record.

If you really want to sail the Atlantic ,the last boat you need is a Wharram3
so much for the hype as to how seaworthy Wharrams are. Two experienced sailors felt it unsafe to go fwd on a cat and drop the jib; and after the sea anchor shackle broke - as they do - the boat was uncontrollable

What a lovely story and video, made my day ! Can one rent pilgrim with its skipper for day or weekend trips ?
This is the style of sailing that I enjoy. Many of the other channels seem to be rushed and with a schedule, like we hope to make it to the next port by tomorrow.... that's not how you sail. Sailing is about going with the wind, and staying still as long as you like... also being topless as much as possible.
You dudes living the dream alright, heart warming story hats off to dad for building his dream and just doing it. Thank I liked this story it's what makes life great.

No autopilot for long journeys is a BIG MISTAKE
Why? People managed to cross oceans without autopilot for hundreds of years. They sailed with a crew of 5. If you do it alone it is a different story.
